The driving forces in the book are youthfulness, rivalry, rebellion, brotherhood, love, death, fear, danger among other things. This is what I wanted to depict in the mood board.
The paper is crushed which shows brokeness and disturbance in the lives. The blood spatter shows death and danger. I have used a dirty old shoe lace to show friendhip and youthfulness. Most fo the teenagers wear sneakers which have not been washed in a long time. An acid effect is given to the paper to give it a grungy punk look.

The ‘loop back’ lace has been used as the main graphic because the way the two laces are pulling away from each other show a palpable tension which is also prominent in the book.
