PROJECT INFO //

After the 6.25 Korean War, Republic of Korea was one of the poorest countries.
We needed economic development to buy food. There was no other choice.
Korea has undergone a radical change since 1960. It is called ‘Miracle on the Han river'.
The economy of South Korea had been expanded from 30 billion to trillion dollars
between 1960 and 2007.

However, there was a problem behind spectacular growth.
We didn’t have enough time to keep our visual culture and tradition.
Most of visual works are disappearing and damaging.

I wanted to preserve Hangul typography. Thus, I collected old Hangul signs,
posters and handwritings by myself. More than 10,000 photos had been taken.
At last, I made old style Hangul lettering posters based on these photos.
