Ian Curtis Memorial Concert

The goal of this project was to create a typographic poster to convey the idea of “void”, in this case that refers to the simple void between letter forms. The idea of serifs reaching out to connect across this void informed the choice to relate it to the life of Ian Curtis, an artist who couldn’t quite make that connection, leaving a void in his life that he saw no way out of. The end result is design work for a hypothetical concert staged by a group of musicians on the thirty-fifth anniversary of his death to honor his legacy as well as attempt to fill another void, that left in the music industry after his death.
