'Trener prawniczy' (Legal trainer) is a series of textbooks destined to law students and graduates as well as to young trainee solicitors. Books contain selection of sentences and verdicts, its analysis and comments. One of the major requirements was to design layout which can include sentences content, detailed review, information for ‘legal experts’ and for ‘beginners’, clearly marked annotations and cross-references. We decided to divide the page into three columns, put the content to the middle one, information for ‘beginners’ on the left and information for ‘experts’ on the right. We used arrows to show where does the particular extract refer to.
Because of the book structure, we couldn’t build all pages in the same way. In the chapter ‘expand knowledge’ main column contains examples of verdicts. We used inversion to distinguish most important parts of the text and ‘stickers’ on the left to place comments and remarks.
When we were working on the cover, we wanted to escape this boring looks, legal textbooks usually present. We focused on original solution, simple form and sophisticated character.
