Theater poster and flyer design / part one

It's always been a big pleasure for a graphic designer to work on a theater poster. This drama based on Dacia Maranini's Mary Stewart, directed by Adina Lévay and played by one of Hungary's best dramatic actresses, Ildikó Bánsági and Mária Varga, and also a young, fresh, talented actress Eszter Földes. The play conflcts the two queens Mary, Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I of England.
I designed two poster and flyer versions for the play. In the first one I used dramatic colors and very rough, montage-like technics to fuel the atmosphere between the two women. The second one is more simpler than the first one. In the centre of the poster you can see a corset, which refers to Elizabeth's body (the Hungarian title is: "The body of the queen"), the red curtian hints the dramatic ending of the play.
The director, Adina Lévay made a modern approach for the play.
