The concept
What is time?
The ticking of a clock. The steady motion of exact intervals bringing existence forward. One tick. At a time. Or is it?
Time is now and then and what will be. It is the beating of your heart and the rush of experience and life. It is the slow crawl of waiting alone.
Time is perhaps the most subjective of all the forces we attempt to measure.
Our room is a manifestation of time through depicting the inner workings of a clock. Yet as constant and everlasting as time feels, the room will
melt come spring.

The experience
As you step into the room you feel small when you gaze up on the enourmous cogwheels on the wall. The room is in itself a clockwork; the
unrelenting teeth of the mechanism frozen in place. It’s almost as if time stopped. Yet every passing moment brings the room closer to its inevitable demise.

Layout sketch of the room.
Before building began we had a dialogue with the construction team about measurements for ice blocks to be placed in our suite, putting in an order for the amount. (Commentary in Swedish.)
