To understand the nature of print design, the derivation of prints from an image was the first challenge. Further explorations are based on the nature of the surface observed in the image. Subsequently the process of screen printing on fabrics and in different color interactions was learnt.
Images were taken all over the insititue by students individually to capture the essence of a surface and replicate it in a print. Here the first example is of a collection of iron rods used in typesetting labs.
The wood grain was used as another reference to make a lampshade print
The final print was taken from the bark of a tree. The improvised surfaces are shown below, as well as the final product
