Lost in Venezia
A personal zine about the city of Venice
Utilizzando l’elemento ricorrente del filo, ho riproposto in maniera astratta temi fortemente legati alla città come il mare, gli orizzonti, la linea di riflessione, le maschere, l’architettura,le storie nascoste tra le case, la fragilità della città stessa e dei suoi edifici. Il filo è linea e diventa in questo caso il livello dell’acqua, la marea, ovvero l’elemento che genera e distrugge la città.Il binomio tra fragilità e bellezza ci fa perdere la testa e il “il filo del discorso”, e da qui l’idea di farsi guidare nella lettura proprio da un filo di cotone.
Using a thread as a recurring element, I interpreted some of the main city elements: the sea, the horizon, masks, legends, the fragility of the city and its buildings. The thread becomes a line and it stands for the tide level, the most typical element of Venice. Tide creates and destroys the city and this union between beauty and fragility makes me love Venice and lose the train of thought.
So I decide to put a thread in order to guide the reader through the zine.
