FEW WORDS FOR LATE GHAURI SAAB:
I close my eyes and vividly recall my first encounter with him, even though it was a formal one, his laughter, from that day at Studio RM only a couple of years ago, rings crisply in my ears.

Ghouri Sahab was a great companion, a good person and a sensitive friend. He was my mentor as well as curator for my first solo show “ The Sepia Voyage”. The duration of our friendship was short yet meaningful and comfortable. Sharing of ideas, thoughts and more than often food now stands as an empty void in my life.

A quote from our last conversation "
If you have pain for things then you can paint"(Ghouri Sahab) really sums up his existence for me. He had kindness in him, yet his concern for humanity was a dark driving force lurking within.
Losing him so young is a loss for our generation, Indus Valley as well as for the Pakistani art scene. His laughter will be missed by multitudes of people - Naveed Sadiq 2011

Working for "the body in 6x3” was exhilarating because of the size of the canvas and stimulating due to the discovery of a medium -acrylics.
Working on a non -miniature surface using a contemporary medium was a new experience. The process of rediscovering “pardakht” in acrylics, I must confess was a form of meditation. During this process I felt I could delve into the depth of a better understanding of things that surround me. Repetition along with things moving on multiple levels helped me revisit myself.
My piece “Shahgird aur Mein” appreciates the practice, the disciplineand the drive of the miniature masters.
