This was a logo designed for a freelance client, their full name is "Beads for Cooldown". We agreed to rebrand them under the name Team BFC to avoid confusion and any IP dispute with Hi Rez studios. This name change would be better suited to carry over if they ever decided to play other video games competitively without sticking them in a rut of only one game. 

 

"Purification beads" are a vital tool in the MOBA game SMITE. They are used to reduce the effect of restricting abilities placed on the user. The team wanted to use this as inspiration to show they they are a group who is ever in motion of thought, collected, but still strong without the idea of brute force tactics. The problem was to use direct imagery made by  Hi Rez Studios, but we came to the agreeement of only using this as inspiration for a more abstract image.

 

Another image they wanted to use was one of the benifits of using the "Purification Beads", being that when activated, the user's abilities' timer would reduce in countdown to be used again. To be specific, the countdown reduction was 5- seconds per ability. This concept is hidden within the B and the F.

This is the colored version of the more detailed logo they wanted. The blues were taken, non-directly, from the "Purification Beads". They also represent loyalty, calmness and knowledge. Everythign is bit more styled, and shape to represent the mental sharpness of the team as a whole. The shield was added a simple representation of their strength, we played with the idea of a sword but they felt the shield was a better icon because a shield can be both offensive and defensive.

Part of the assignment was they they wanted to look almost like a sports team, like the NBA or NFL. I applied gradients and shaodws to give a false sense of 3D. The problem that came with this part was the client's reccomendations and edits that were not the greatest, but he was kind enough for me to turn him in this direction. I studied what kind of detail went into thise kind of image by observing professional sport teams. No need to say he was very satisfied with the result.

These was a set sub logos that I created for the client. They were also created to show how the detailed logo can be broken down into simpler items. This was as far was went with it so that there wouldnt be too much confusion.
