MEN WOMEN AND CHILDREN by CHAD KULTGEN
A novel of dating, sex, and distress in an average American suburb.
The cover makes reference to the Internet landscape—and porn— that
the different generations navigate.
LOLITA by VLADIMIR NABOKOV
Nabokov’s classic novel, with its teasing and complex characters,
has always intrigued me. It is the tale of a man driven and destroyed by desire.
I tried to distill this book’s contents down to visual simplicity by
referencing the nymphet with her luscious lips. The color palette gives this cover
a retro flavor with a modern look complemented by the script type chosen for the title.

THE SUN ALSO RISES by ERNEST HEMINGWAY
Front cover, back cover, and spine.
Hemingway’s account of the lives of a “lost generation” against
the background of a wild Spanish fiesta and bull-fight still
captures readers’ attention because of its intensity.
Yet, life is described like a blur that leaves no traces of its fleeting pleasures.
BOOK COVER
The blurred picture of the bull-fight tries to capture the storyline
while the typographic treatment and color choice support the literal meaning of the title.
