3 objects for KANSK Architectural Festival

Kansk international architectural festival
is being held as part of complex reorganisation and redevelopment of small Siberian town Kansk. Last year competition winners were thinking about whole embankment improvement and its particular objects - benches. This year competition was aiming to add 3 new typologies to linear park glossary. A bridge, a fountain and a street lantern were required.

Our proposal covers all 3 categories. As regards to bridge - we`ve found out funny feature of surrounding urban fabric. Both 2 bridges, among which proposed bridge site is situated, are "double" - each generated of 2 overpasses. This comes from irregular urban modification and density. Based on this observation, our new pedestrian bridge is conceived double  from the beginning.
The ountain is supposed to create specific "anchor" space at  Sensational square at developing Kansk embankment. Cloud shape connects the object directly with weather forecasting. While in the daytime it represents a sculpture with water dinamic options, at night it comes media object, changing its LED-lighting colour according to forthcoming weather phenomenon.
The trird object is aimed to create clear and vivid space within wooden undergrowth at the river bank. It must be easy for consctuction and reproduction. At the same time it should create unique and spectacular views. We concentrated on natural forms as well as ability to re-use local waste. That are the points from which we startwd to work up these sheaf-shaped lanterns.
As a result of jury`s voting, our projects took place in first 10 best projects. The sheaf-lantern even was chosenfor realisation at the next year`s season.
