I created this illustration for Stella Magazine's Pop Issue. I was asked to to create an illustration based on today's constantly evolving pop culture and how I interpret it. The issue is about the difference between popular and the off popular. What makes it popular and why is it that for example, in music, pop is considered less artistic. The issue includes articles about subcultures, pop art, vox pop and an interview with Yelle.

When I took a step back and thought about today's pop culture, the first thing that came to mind was the take over of quick response(QR) bar codes. These days they're what fuels the 'whats hot' fire in the media. So with that idea in mind I came up with this illustration. Whats Hot in Pop Culture? Ask a QR Code. Today, they're what make up pop culture's equation for persuasion.
