Project realized for Almacén UC (the souvenir shop of Universidad Católica). We had to create new products inspired by the identity of the university and its students. The production of these would be realized along the inmates of Puente Alto's jail.

After a few surveys, I discovered that lots of students considered the dogs that wander inside our campuses as part of the identity I was searching for. They are very special dogs: from the streets, and of no particular breed; friendly dogs who like to relax and sleep while students stress about their exams. They have no shame, which makes them pretty funny to watch. But students are really fond of these dogs.

Kanu is a series of wood and leather dog plushies/toys inspired by the ones of Universidad Católica.
They were made along Orlando Hernández (or Lalo), inmate of Puente Alto's jail.

1st Semester | 2014
Some pictures of the dogs that wander around the campuses. They like to chill with their legs wide open. Pretty relaxed.
To the left: me and Lalo probably discussing some ideas of how to create these lazy dogs.
To the right: one of Lalo's first attempts at creating a dog (he had never worked with wood nor leather before!)

These were the final result: lazy and sleepy dogs who can't stand up.
They are made of pine wood and scrap leather pieces; filled with lentils.
The many attempts of dogs!
Final presentation.
