Tashiling Refugee Camp Golden Anniversary, Pokhara, Nepal
Established in the Autumn of 1964, the Tashiling Tibetan Refugee Camp became home to 399 Tibetans.
Fleeing their homelands and first arriving in Mustang in the barren, northern reaches of Nepal, these refugees were aided in their plight by three volunteers from the UK, John Pearce, Roger Catchpole and David Macpherson, as they ventured southwards to Pokhara, Nepal.
Tashiling is still a thriving community and now, 50 years later, two of the volunteers have returned to the camp they helped inaugurate and to enjoy the celebrations of Tashilings Golden anniversary.
