These two manuals, one dedicated to single men and one to single women,are giving careful instructions on how to adopt the gender roles of theopposite sex and how to manage life on your own. Through my research Ifound that despite the fact that society is changing and gender rolesare constantly being challenged, traditional gender stereotypes arestill very prevalent in people's minds. These two books, which wereedited, illustrated, designed, printed and bound in the first semesterof my graduating year at Emily Carr University, are poking fun at thesestereotypes by exaggerating and playing along with them.
