LIGHT DIVISION - mulitfunctional room divider
Redesign the lighting experience in a hallway at the administrative building of Leiedal: Increase the user experience by matching the functions of the lighting with the costumer’s needs and wants. Pay attention to aesthetic design as well as functionality and ergonomics.
Light Division is a luminary seperation cupboard that both serves as a hallway light and a multifunctional storage unit and would replace the current cupboards in the hallway. The intention of Light Division is to let as much natural light into the hallway without compromising the privacy and work space of the employees. The strategically placed LED-strips illuminate the room when natural light isn’t sufficient.

folded out, the bars can be used as either a table or a coat hanger. The lowest bars give acces to storage space.
folded in, you are left with an elegant room divider. The gaps between the bars give the hallway enough access to the sunlight without compromising the privacy of the employees.
