Reloved

Brief
Logo design for a client whose web based store front is focused on children's high fashion second hand clothing. The final outcome consisted of a logo in colour and one in black and white.

Key words as noted by the client were the following:

"Vintage, homely (not too computerised), niche, safe, young & hip, organic (price tags are made on brown cardboard), and also loved - the clothes are not 2nd hand but 'reloved'."

Stylistic concerns were covered:

"Not either too grown up or too childish, it is cool, and even has a slight 2nd hand feel to it...uses double lining, it looks slightly vintage... stripes give the font a 2nd hand feel."

"Would really love a heart included somewhere in the name, whether it should be re (heart) loved, or just a heart inside the o i'm not sure. But there should definitely be a heart in there."

Thus begin the journey.

Final logos.
Starting from the sketch book.
Moving onto digitalising the logo design, an emphasis was placed on a hand written feel as well as involving the elements of writing in cursive.

The negative and positive space was explored in the heart as well.
A few elements were further discussed with the client before moving on to the next stage of refinement.
The client requested three specific desire colours to be explored in the logo design.

I placed the logos on a neutral colour to pin point visually, which ones would stand out more on any given surface.
At this stage I provided black and white versions of the logo to further cement the final look of the logo.
Few more colour combinations were tested as well as fully going for a more cursive look.

Client Testimonial

In the process of starting my own hobby business, I tried to create a logo myself. Soon I realised that I lacked sufficient skills for the job..But as soon as I realised that, I also realised that I knew someone (Ariel), who has studied both fine art and graphic design! Perfect combination!

Contacting Ariel was a good decision. Ariel handled the whole process very professionally, she listened to my wishes the whole way through, while also adding subtle creative solutions of her own. Paying someone to create something for you can be daunting - but I would honestly recommend Ariel’s services to others - I’m extremely pleased with the result of the logo created!
