The "Re_Denim" project, as the title suggests, is about the fabric mainly involved in the production of jeans, even though nowadays it’s used in various forms. The project developed from a few pairs of jeans(my sisters’ actually) still in good condition but no longer used. Jeans were cut and broken apart. Next step: study of textures through juxtaposition, weaving and also random overlapping of the different pieces. Once the textures were defined, the project started shaping itself . From a precise kind of clothing such as jeans, to a completely different one. The title "Re_Denim" in fact synthesize this conversion process. The result, created in a unique piece, in a way resemble both the sleeveless jacket and waistcoat typology but it has a elements taken from various cultures and types of clothing. And this in order to create a simple piece of clothing with no connotation of time, opposite to the seasonal nature of the jeans cuts from which the project developed.
