2012 Laser-Cut Calendar

I've always wanted to design a calendar, but never got around it. As I recently purchased a laser engraver for the production of my personal project "The New America", I found myself curious to experiment and a need to be more familiar with all of its possibilities.

The idea of laser-cutting paper seemed perfect for a calendar. The missing material creates interesting opportunities for it hung in the middle of a room, against a wall or over a wallpaper pattern, a photographic collage or a window. The possibilities are endless! This design was a collaboration between myself and my wife Linn Olofsdotter.

This Calendar was laser-cut on a heavy 140lb 25 x 19 in Black Muscletone Paper from French Paper Company. The price is U$20 dollars, which is actually quite fair considering it takes nearly 1 hr to laser cut each calendar. Also note that there are three small cuts at the top of the paper which can be used to pin the calendar up on a surface.

Mine Could Be Yours is a shop for small art projects that Linn and I have created. If you prefer, you may also purchase the calendar from Etsy.
