2011兩岸漢字藝術節視覺形象設計
由大陸和台灣合辦的兩岸漢字藝術節是兩岸同類型活動中最高等級的展覽,第一屆由北京主辦,今年第二屆是台北主辦,中華文化總會承辦。
設計師李根在受委託設計整體展覽視覺形象規劃,展出單位包含故宮博物院,國父紀念館,歷史博物館,華山文創園區等台灣重量級的展出單位。
整體視覺形象由標誌開始著手進行,在思索兩岸間漢字的關係,正體字是鐘國文化的部份,大陸自從建立新中國後,正體字被簡化成簡體字,兩岸間的正簡體間的爭執不斷,在避免此問題,因此在設計標誌時決定用永字八法為基本構成,避免正簡體間的問題。
字體在英文為Type Face, 在美國時看到這個英文單字總好奇,為什麼叫Type face?是因為字體的造型不同就像不同人的臉般?這個單字也讓筆者創造了ㄧ系列以不同國家的人種戴上不同語言的文字所設計的面具,這樣的想法轉移到漢字藝術節的標誌時,想到,什麼臉孔可以代表中國人的臉?
京劇臉譜中的關公。
紅黑色的關公臉譜在京劇中代表的是正義,而由永字八法所構成的臉譜也巧妙的將兩者結合,也表達漢字字體的概念。
Visual Identity of Chinese Character Arts Festival 2011
The event was held by China and Taiwan together, the first time the event was held in Beijing, China. The second time the event was held in Taipei, Taiwan.
Chinese characters are not only words, but also Pictures, they are not only pronunciation,  but also have meaning with the words.
Designer ken-tsai lee was asked to design the visual identity for the event, the event exhibits in National Palace Museum, National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, National Museum of Taiwan History…….
The Visual identity design started from Logo design, the reason why the logo of element used the eight basic strokes, because to avoid the controversy between Taiwan and China, they are used different type of Chinese characters, which one to use in logo would be a controversy.
As we know that Type-called in English is Type Face. When I was in NewYork, I thought that why called Type as Type Face? because the different types look like different people's faces?
