The Bully Project Mural is an experimental project in which 16 artists from around the globe work independently to create one unified piece of art.
We were selected by Adobe to participate with them in this project for our unique vision and expression in our medium. Adobe is partnering with Lee Hirsch, the director of the documentary “Bully” to produce a work to help spread the word about the movement. Our artwork would be one tile in a mural / grid of 16 artworks, made by 16 diffrent artists. The Adobe Studio creative team will reassemble the individual canvases, then unveil the final work at the MAX event in Los Angeles in October 2014.
After reading the experiences on the bully project blog and also out of personal experience, we wanted to create an image showcasing the overwhelming inequality of bullying. The group pressure and how people are singled out. We made an oversized coloured chess board in an abstract studio setting. The chess board consists out of different coloured blocks of different heights, symbolising the un- predictable environment of growing up.
We singled out a single chess piece, against many opponents.
