In the past, Southern Adventist University's pictorial directory, the Joker, has had designs reminiscent of court jesters or else ideas that have nothing to do with the "joker" concept. I decided to take my design in a different direction, playing off the idea of a Joker who's more of a prankster child. I paired my retro children's book drawings with inside jokes from around campus to create the 2009-2010 Joker design contest winner.
