Microsoft / Lenovo - Name Your Dream Assignment

Lenovo, a worldwide manufacturer of PCs, rolled out a model ideal for “prosumer” photographers, the ThinkPad W700. Yet that group had limited awareness of the company’s offerings. With funding from Microsoft, a campaign was built around a contest that solicited ideas for a photographer’s “dream assignment” anywhere in the world. Online voting determined which entrant won $50,000 and a ThinkPad W700 to make the dream a reality.
We used a robust, targeted social media engagement to promote the contest, which led to more than 55,000 online conversations before the date when entries were accepted.

Before we went live with the website, we reached out to influential photography bloggers with this combination passport booklet and airplane ticket. This kind of outreach generated substantial buzz on a limited budget.
