This was a brief set by SEGA for the YCN competition, the brief was to create a piece of communication that celebrates SEGA's mascot Sonic the Hedgehog, a video gaming icon for the past 20 years, I had to create something that celebrates his 20 year anniversary.
This project was perhaps one of my weakest, for I did not have a proper understanding of the brief and treated like it was a branding project, instead of treating it like a brand extension project.
I created a logo to celebrate the anniversary and a few posters and storyboards to help celebrate Sonic's birthday.

Logo Design
This is the logo that I have created for this project, I will apply it to a variety of media to celebrate Sonics's 20th anniversary. I chose the name 20 years of Sonic because I did not want to use the words anniversary. The banner in the back is similair to the banners used in the various sonic games and the color scheme of the logo emulates a golden color similar to that of the golden rings in the game.
The zero used in the twenty has stars to be similar to that of the checkpoint that Sonic passes through in the games. This is to symbolize Sonic's 20 year checkpoint.

These posters are to celebrate the various iconic aspects of Sonic and his legacy. For this poster I designed it so that it would celebrate his speed. Sonic is iconic for his super speed and this poster shows the various shoe redesigns and how all of them are torn up by 20 years of speed.

This poster design was done to celebrate 20 years of rings, which were iconic in the Sonic universe for throughout every game he collects these power rings. They are almost as iconic as Sonic himself. The poster shows a cupboard with all the rings he has collected over the past 20 years.

Logo Animatic
This is an animated version of the logo showcasing all of the iconic themes of Sonic and his legacy. In addition I added various Sonic sound effects to give a sense of nostalgia towards the sonic fandom.
