20 German Inventions Exhibition Project

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This exhibition focuses on exhibiting 20 specified German inventions, however from the perspective of understanding what it is like to become an inventor through providing a fun interactive environment for the visitor to learn from and enjoy. The concept of “BECOME AN INVENTOR” was inspired from wanting to motivate people that in order to achieve something great; patience, persistence and hard work is needed, and we aim at conveying this in the content, process and details of the exhibition.

First our research was very general, then we researched about certain points for each invention, then we questioned a little bit “what if?”. Also we researched about the inventors and what were their characteristics and motives to do such important inventions.

Since the quality of information about each invention was very big and complex, we decided to cluster and simplify information and reduce the amount to the crutials. We wanted to introduce it in a humorour way to keep the visitor interested.

STEP #1: LOOK LIKE AN INVENTOR

The visitor impersonates a character of an inventor in a playful way such as wearing a fake mustache. It is a fun approach to grab the attention of the visitor through acting the role of an inventor and beginning the process lighthearted and open to the information in the exhibition.

STEP #2: ACT LIKE AN INVENTOR

Re-Constructing which is where the visitor starts to physically re-build the inventions. There will be building blocks that the visitor will place together therefore they will learn about the invention through building it. This part will be very simple and applied in an abstract way with little detailed information however enough for the user to understand the formulation of the invention.

STEP #3: FEEL LIKE AN INVENTOR

The Golden Rules which focuses on providing the visitor with further direction for how to become an inventor. It gives the visitor more information about the invention as well as showing its impact on our society through, for example, showing videos and footage.
