In the summer of 2010 I was approached by AEG to do some work on their game, Legend of the 5 Rings. They wanted me to paint the strongholds for the game, a task undertaken quite successfully by Charles Urbach for a number of years. I was thrilled and scared. It was a daunting number of paintings, but it was also a chance to explore a rich world full of stories and amazing places.
When I started these paintings I was a stranger to the world of Rokugan. But now I feel as if I’m starting to get a feel for it. I sincerely hope I have done the devoted fans of L5R justice with my paintings.
