POLAROID!

I love polaroid.  It's the best.  The instant gratification, the simplicity, the intoxicating smell.  If I could shoot an entire campaign on pol, it would be heaven.  Seriously, it's just way too much fun to use.  Not to mention that for a while it was hard to find, so a lot of my pol was outdated, had gone through hot/cold cycles, and more, so you never knew how the image would turn out. Some of it cracked, some rolled, but most stayed good post 'the pull'.  Then there's the cooking time.  I remember being a newbie assistant in NYC and loving it.  Taking our time, looking over the pols for errors, calculating exposure and color temp cause some pol ran hot, some ran dark.  It was so much better than digital.  It was more fun cause you got to get your hands dirty.  Hell, you got to use your hands.  Now all I do it play on the computer.   The best part of loving a format like polaroid is lugging packs and packs of it out for a night on the town, then ending up with images with pops, bad pulls, scratches; and it didn't matter cause it's pol.  All of these were shot with my Mamiya RZ 67.  The thing is a beast, and when I rigged it for flash it weighed in at 15 pounds!  I still shoot polaroid.  I've got a ton of shots in a box.  You know what, I should pull it all out and have a show.  Yeah.  A Pol Show.  Sweet.
