Data visualization involves a lot of technical steps, from data cleaning to complex calculations. But there’s one crucial aspect that’s not technical at all:
understanding the audience
Our technical expertise, artistic background, or mastery of BI tools won’t guarantee success. We could create a masterpiece of a dashboard, packed with insights, but if it’s designed for the wrong audience, it will go unused.
To ensure my visualizations are impactful, I prioritize understanding my audience before diving into any project. Here are four key questions I ask first:
Dashboard Redesign / Data Visualization
Once the stakeholder reach high engagement, I have their attention and their trust and can start incorporating more best practices and more advanced visualization techniques - which we know is the true way to measure progress.
Thank You!
