This is a house promotional video for a local realtor, inspired by HGTV, filming and editing done by me.

This was my first touch on the real estate video market. The largest challenge was filming with no lighting in a dark environment, using the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k, which is not in any way known for it's low light.

I primarily filmed against the light, so that the windows and other light sources were behind the subject and usually in frame. This allowed the dark areas to stay dark without making the entire image seem under lit.

Coloring this was challenging as well because the available interior lighting was both tungsten (orange) and daylight (blue). That, combined with Jeremy's lighter skin tone, which reflected any nearby light color a bit too well, made it difficult to find an eye-pleasing middle ground between the two extremes.

The moving shots of the town and other houses were a lot of fun to make. I strapped my camera with a DJI Ronin RS2 gimbal onto my car's roof, using some film rigging equipment I rented from a friend. I used the DJI phone app to operate the direction of the gimbal, drove slowly, and prayed. The shots turned out fantastic.

Lastly, I used that same DJI Ronin RS2 to stabilize the shots. I used sweeping and rising motions to keep the video dynamic while looking at static objects. At first I was tempted to just show as many pretty interior elements in each shot as possible, but this made shots chaotic. By the end of it, I learned how to choose a particular object of interest in the frame and make that the hero of the shot, swooping to showcase it, with the other furniture and appliance pieces around it acting as accents. 

In all, I am really happy with how this turned out, especially since it was my first attempt at making a building itself the start of the show. Enjoy!
