Project 4, Seven Deadly Sins

Project 4,  Seven Deadly Sins
For our final project, we had to chose to create a newspaper centered on the seven deadly sins or the 7 heavenly virtues. For each sin/virtue we had to create a something based of the type of composition that was designated for each type of sin/virtue. Here's the link to my dropmark for my original files. When we were finished with the newspaper, we sent it off to The Newspaper Club over in Scotland, which offer a unique challenge. This project was printed on 55gsm at tabloid size.

For this project, I decided to do the seven deadly sins and the theme that I chose were flowers. Here are the sins listed in order and their corresponding composition type.

Lust: Analogue collage
Gluttony: Typography solution
Greed: Personal photo with models
Sloth: personal photo in duotone
Wrath: Found photo
Envy: Found photo with hand lettered text
Pride: Constructed image

Here is a mockup of my front cover.
Here is a mock-up for my lust composition. I truly wanted the flowers to consume her as if she's being consumed with lust so the flowers she's surround by symbolize passion and lust. I wanted this collage to truly capture the elegance that flowers have.
Here is my mockup for my envy composition. I truly wanted the text to seem like it's overwhelming her and the envy is truly overwhelming her.
Here is my mockup for my pride composition. My goal here was to create a image that depicts the processions of someone who is overly prideful, which I used various items an overly manicured, arrogant might hold dear to them.
