Fundamentals of Interaction Final Project:
Financial Aid Finder Case Study
This is a product made as a search engine for assistance program made for people struggling with low income. It aims to narrow down the search and be a unified resource page for assistance programs. Uses Figma for prototyping.
I used my own family’s experience as well as read articles that talk about America’s income problem, how low-income Americans get the worst financial advices online, and looking at a few articles that outline certain types of Aid for my research. From there I found that I needed a dedicated website that should directly show you the programs webpage. In testing, I found that the articles and using google to look for available aid varies when I conducted a test with multiple peers which helped solidify my decision in what I wanted to do.
My "Paper" Prototype - Edited post-feedback
I wanted this to be as short and straightforward a process as possible,
nothing too complex and overwhelming as it is designed to be a fast, if not,
direct process. No beating around the bushes. There were a few areas where I
had to make some changes or additions based on feedback. I made certain
fields available on the home page taken from the filter menu, made the filter
menu extended/visible by default on the results page, moved some buttons
around for better scanning, etc. It’s mainly just layout changes for better
browsing.
