For this assignment we were instructed to create a typeface with at least 18 characters along with 2 ads to promote it. I happened to be reading a comic at the time of this assignment which is what inspired me to create a comic style typeface. I initially struggled when creating this type. I knew what I wanted but I just wasn't sure how to quite make it there. After some critique from my classmates I decided to make my letters a little softer and thicker while trying to keep small counters. Then for my ads I wanted to really go into the comic aesthetic by utilizing comic style explosions, halftones and big onomatopoeia.
