Doors are an essential part of our lives. It serves as a form of barrier, as well as, communication between us and the outside world. It is a gate that we interact with everyday, whether it is to collect newpapers in the morning, or to water the plants outside, or to leave for school or work. It also can be expressed as an emotional statement of its owner (whether it is open or closed ).

Doors are everywhere, they are gates that we exit and enter into a different environment annd they are in itself, a chance for connections to be made.

Our project is motivated by how communication occurs using the door as a medium, and how interactions happen between the people of both sides of the door.

Singapore is a tiny city where land is scarce, so most people live in HDB flats, which forces people to live closely to one another.

Due to the high density of people living in HDB flats, the door-to-door sales technique is often used, as it is possible to go door-to-door to sell a product or service to the general public. This allow for interaction between two or more parties.

In this project, we aim to find out more about the behaviors of these people at the door.
Front & Back Covers of the publication were engraved and die cut.
This is the cast we used for our filming.
Left to Right: Postman, Ice Cream Seller, Neighbour, Salesman & Girls Guide
There is a gate and door for every section, from the perspective of someone inside the house.
