Project scope: wordmark / logo and magazine print design
Created for assessment by Torrens University Australia
This project was created for use in the Summer Latin Festival, ‘Festiva de Verano’. The client asked for the design to reflect the Latin culture in a contemporary and playful way. I conducted research into Latin-inspired type design before creating a few concepts for refinement. The final wordmark, created in Illustrator, features a script typeface and bright, eye-catching colours to convey the fun, festival atmosphere of the event to the viewer.
Festiva de Verano Wordmark Design
In designing the magazine print layout, I spent time researching festival layout designs to better inform my design process. I continued the use of colour and excitement from the wordmark through to this design to maintain consistency and visual interest. I chose a sans serif typeface for the body copy to not draw away from the coloured elements, images and wordmark display font.
