This is the front cover illustration for the 13th and 14th Children's Books I've illustrated. I penciled and inked this by hand, scanned it in and lettered and colored it digitally in PhotoShop layers.
Author, Jeff Jones, first contacted me with two books (about 12 pages each) he wanted to do, but Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) has a 24-page minimum for kid's books. So, I suggested the "2 Books In One" format and designed the diagonally split cover, and Voila! All images were penciled and inked by hand, scanned into PhotoShop and colored digitally in layers, then imported into Adobe Illustrator to layout the text and the interior PDF per KDP specs.
