Project 4 : Save the Arts

Project 4 : Save the Arts
Design Brief
About the Project :
For this project, we were required to create a campaign regarding the importance of the arts ; photography, painting, dance, theater, etc.
Research :
I found out that Fine Arts in general is in decline. One of them is sculpting. Based on the article by Molecular Sculpture, a couple reasons why it's been declining are because of digital arts and the lack of knowledge of the craft. School and education establishment prefer to teach the younger generation traditional knowledge such as math, history, English, etc and leave the trade skills in behind.
Target Audience :
Arts collector, art investors, artists, and ordinary people who like arts.
Objective :
To engage with the audience and move them.
Design Problem :
How to design three different posters that are cohesive and manage to deliver the message to the audience successfully?
Sketches
My sketches contains a few different directions, some depict that the sclupting art is dying, therefore drew statues in a casket, hospital bed with an oxygen mask, and one drown in a pool of blood, to comedic series where the statues are facing the end of the world or Doomsday hence i drew several natural disasters, comet, and Jesus coming down the earth. I decided to work on those concepts.
Comps
Set 1 :
Set 2 :
Final
I decided to work further on "Set 1" due to more positive feedback. Visually, i successfully deliver the message with the design placement and style that are consistent. The tagline "Why?" slighly confusing, that would be my reason why i would go back and delete that line and make the other taglines to be more prominent "Don't let another one .... !" I encourage the audience to sign up for a dummy art institute "Pence Institute" to save the craft.
