Putting it all in practice

I could tell that the eyes for the light have significantly changed rather than the other ones that I‘m not sure about. It’s because I started to analyze the screen when I’m taking photos, which angle would best fit for my photo.
Not all but a few, I applied the rule of third when I was taking a portrait(Thomas) photo and low angle for the swimming pool.
I would say both at a time, I’m hoping that what I’ve taken was my best that I could do and thinking it could be better by editing it.
I’m attracted to nature photography, which is simply taking photos of wildlife, landscapes, etc. I simply want to save the moment of the beauty of nature.
How to sense or smell(?) a good photo and that timing when you are taking photos.
The easiest one was taking photos of something green, where there were many green things outside. The hardest one was when I was taking silhouettes. It's very hard to capture a moment when the object is staying back by the sunlight and it’s completely dark.
