This piece best demonstrates my drawing ability because it shows I can draw what I observe accurately and precisely. This was my favorite project I completed in my drawing class because of the composition itself. I enjoyed the challenge of drawing the complex organic forms such as the boot and pumpkin. At the same time, I also liked the simple shapes like the paper bag and cup. The use of perspective shows that this is an accurate representation of these forms. For example, the chair in the back is actually the largest object however, the pumpkin appears larger because it was positioned closer to where I was sitting. This example and the sizing of other objects make this piece an accurate representation of perspective and the composition itself. The use of the cross-contours throughout each form represent the 3-dimensionality of the forms. The cross-contours represent the shape and roundness of the forms making them appear realistic and 3D rather than flat. This piece best represents my drawing ability through my use of complex forms, perspective, contours, and line quality.
