As the layout designer of Halcyon Magazine, I was responsible for layout and typesetting the magazine copy, as well as designing promotional materials, including postcards, banners, business cards, icons, and flyers. I also established and enforced brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive product identity.
ABOUT HALCYON MAGAZINE:
Halcyon Magazine has and continues to form the cornerstone of student photography at Columbia University, in New York City, and the world.
Founded in August 2011, designed to showcase the photographic talents of university students, Halcyon selects 5 student portfolios that not only reflect each issue’s chosen theme, but also demonstrate high attention to craftsmanship, creativity, and theme coherence. The photos are printed in a biannual issue, and the photographers are interviewed in a New York City photoshoot.
In the past, Halcyon has featured various genres of photography, including landscape, portraiture, fashion, film/analog, and digitally manipulated.
