Diamond Connections
Diamond Connections is a portable side table that features a metal frame with a poplar wood table top. The main focus of this project was the intricacy of the bottom connection and how it became the megs of the table.
Ideation: Sketching
At the beginning stages of this project, I was really stuck on the ‘Portable idea for this table and that is reflected in many of my initial sketches. You can see that most of my designs feature handles of some sort that were intended to be made from bent metal tubing. As ideation continued I began to come into the idea of having some sort of interesting connection at the bottom of the table and making that the focus, and having a hidden handle or grip.
