The Orlando Chapter of the American Institute of Architects was overdue for a total website re-design. The original site was constructed over ten years ago. A complete re-design was needed to allow the chapter to have an easy to update website that could be viewed on multiple mobile devices and platforms. Since AIA is a design organization, it was critical that the site reflect an organization that values design.

Design Aesthetic:  “Less, but Better”  - Dieter Rams
Borrowing cues from product designer Dieter Rams and Mid Century modern design aesthetics, the team laid the ground rules for simplifying the content of the website while improvising upon a simple, clean framework. Use of white space and clear hierarchies where employed to avoid visual clutter and organize content. Large, single images where used to highlight design work while maintaining a simple layout. The color orange was utilized as a branding color for the Orlando chapter and highlights calls to action and is used to indicate areas of importance.

The site was completed in less than three months, from kick-off meeting to final launch.
