GAS STATION SERVICE “GUAYLLABAMBA” IN GUAYLLABAMBA-ECUADOR
"This architectural expansion and modification project emphasizes the importance of harmonious integration with the landscape of the Guayllabamba Valley, characterized by lush vegetation and a diverse gastronomic offering that attracts both domestic and foreign tourists.
The current layout of the existing gas station, built in the 1960s, displays signs of aging, deterioration, and lack of functionality in its spaces. Therefore, a comprehensive renovation has been carefully planned, considering its strategic location in the Guayllabamba Valley, situated off a deviation of Ecuador's main highway known as the "Pan-American North," which connects northwards to the neighboring country of Colombia. The gas station thus becomes a crucial anchor to complement various profitable businesses through partnerships with franchised companies.
This fuel sales business, operating 24 hours a day, not only offers services for light and heavy vehicles but also becomes a multifunctional community center. It will include a mini-market, services from renowned food chains, a banking agency, a pharmacy, among others. This vision aims to satisfy not only the needs of customers who come to refuel but also to enrich the life of the local community.
The project is developed on a plot of land measuring 2,451.35 m2. The front portion, located on the avenue, houses the fuel service station, while in the central rear part, a small 2-story building with 4 commercial premises showing signs of aging is situated. A total remodeling of these existing structures is planned, complemented by an expansion that will accommodate 21 new commercial premises and offices, distributed in different construction stages. Each premises is designed with its own bathroom, offering flexibility and adaptability for a variety of businesses.
The project also includes efficient pedestrian circulation areas, with stairs on the ground and upper floors, as well as communal spaces such as gardens, green areas, a communal hall, and two areas for public restrooms. The planning includes ample vehicular circulation areas for gas station customers and visitors to the commercial premises. Additionally, an area with parking capacity for 20 vehicles has been allocated, improving the overall aesthetics of the project and achieving a balance between functionality and aesthetics."
