A photo project about emigration and its impact on artistic practice.
Over the past year and a half, my family and I have moved three times from Russia to Georgia then back to Russia, and again moved to, but now to Sweden. In addition to movements between countries, there were also local ones: moves with changes in apartments and districts. This experience greatly influenced my vision of photography.
Daily photo notes on the mobile phone multiplied by the hundreds every day. The joy of being in a new place, getting used to it, finding a home, sadness, being lost, searching for beauty, and observing. I subject my photographic notes to a strong digital alteration: in the editor, I reduce the contrast, make the photo blurry and unclear, and greatly increase the color saturation - everything is the same as with my gaze in exile, which cannot focus on objects as before.
