Brief description
Camus II is a interpretation of the death of  the French philosopher Albert Camus and it is a part of  the series Death of Philosophers. The Artwork’s foundation is a performance that was documented with 5 videocameras and then edited together with a supporting soundscape based on the characters emotions through out the performance. The purpose of the work, as with others in the series, is to place my physical body in a situation resembling the moment of death. And try to experience, imagine and stage the mental and physical stages that Camus might have lived at the moment of his death, as his car crashed in to a tree in 1960.
The viewers experience of the work does not however not have to reflect my experience as the work is open for other interpretations, though Camus’s death is it inspiration. The work also raises questions about interpretation, reanactments, the stageing of self, gender isues(feminist) and alienation.
