Fakher Stamps

This branding project is part of a series where we branded small traditional businesses in Esna, a beautiful small town in Upper Egypt.

Fakher, the seal-stamp maker, eloquently engraves names on small copper stamp. This trade has been passed on from the ancient Egyptians since around 3000 BC. The personal seal stamp was quite popular back in the day for illiterate people who used it as their bank/authentic signature.

Drawing from the historical relevance, ancient Egyptians were known to make inscriptions on the bases of scarabs to function as stamp-seals, hence, the main element to inspire the logo symbol was the scarab.
