Baroness Lorely Burt is a prolific liberal democrat politician from Birmingham. Mrs. Burt wanted a logo designed which reflected her political career as well as her new ventures into the world of business. Thus, the design below was born.
The concept was developed starting with Mrs. Burt's initials, L and B. The serif typeface for the letter "L" was selected to reflect the industrial spirit of the city of Birmingham. The letter B was obtained by the negative space created by the redesigned shape of the Bird of Liberty, a symbol of the Liberal Democrat party.
