St. Brigid's Day -  1st February

It’s the time of the year to remind ourselves Spring starts in a month and a half! Once St. Brigid is here, winter won’t last much longer. We are almost there.

She was an amazing woman. Apart from the impromptu wicker crosses so no soul would be lost, she was a fantastic administrator. She ran her bishopric like clockwork. So much so that she could milk her cows three times a day… those poor animals. Also, she converted tubs full of water in beer. I imagine that’s the reason she got to be Ireland’s patron saint.

Let’s celebrate her day with three glasses of milk… or a pint of beer!
