Apparitions
Both of these posters are promotion for Northern Michigan University’s 2011 senior exhibition. The theme of the show was Apparitions. Out of the many definitions we decided on the definition closely resembling visions.
The first of these posters promoting the event takes a digital view on the theme of visions.
The question I imagined was: how would a vision look in a purely digital environment? The Geometric forms were created through an external java script file used in conjunction with Adobe Illustrator, while the colorful faceted form was modeled and rendered by textures in Cinema 4D.
The other poster I imagined a dream like environment that housed an artifact that was unearthly. I thought of this artifact as a reoccurring vision one might have. This artifact is displayed on a generic ground, which seems familiar as if from a distant memory.
