APSA (Research, strategy and design)

The project

This project was made in a group with Lisbon EDIT, Disruptive Digital Education. The project consisted of conducting research and strategy for redesigning a membership and termination process.  We chose APSA, a private institution of social solidarity that already has a website but no digital applications.
We did some research that included methods like:
interviews with parents and administrative staff, empathy map, persona, problem statement, storytelling, and user journey map.
Our problem statement was:
A father wants to register his son at APSA without having to go to the school in person. That’s a problem because the applications are in person, which creates difficulties with the parents (or tutors) and the institution.

After that, we started making different types of benchmarking, then modifying the sitemap and making wireframes on paper and low-fi wireframes in Figma. When we had a first solution we started testing it with our future users, parents, or tutors that have to make applications and cancel them for their children. Then with the inputs of our usability tests and a UI kit, we did the final solution.
We concluded the project with a hi-fi prototype and more importantly a solution for our two types of personas (the parents and the administrative staff). We create a simple way to make an application and cancel it and a place where the information can be held with the permission of the user. This way we can reduce the use of paper, put the information in a safe space, and optimize the father time and the administrative time. Finally, we increase the satisfaction between the parents and the institution.
